
Dr David Ferreira

Dr David Ferreira is skilled patient-centred cardiologist and electrophysiologist. With a genuine passion for patient care and research, he is actively engaged in clinical trials to answer questions that are important to people. His research is highly respected, with international presentations/publications in leading cardiology journals, resulting in practice change around the world.
David completed his medical degree at the University of New England in Armidale, New South Wales with distinction. He completed his basic physician training at Liverpool Hospital in Sydney, being awarded both the Physicians’ and Academic prizes. Completing his cardiology training at John Hunter Hospital, he became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2024 while concurrently completing a PhD. After this, he embarked on subspeciality training in electrophysiology at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne (2024) and Auckland City Hospital in Auckland (2025). During his fellowship he performed over 700 electrophysiology/ablation procedures and 500 device procedures, developing the skills required to care for patients safely and effectively.
